GN solids control design and manufacture both barite recovery decanter centrifuge system and liquid mud plant for customized requirement.

Our barite recovery decanter centrifuge model including GNLW452 with 1800rpm and 18inch bowl and GNLW453VFD with 0~2800rpm variable speed , 18inch bowl. These 2 models are commonly used for barite recovery system. But sometimes GNLW363VFD decanter centrifuge is also used for LMP.

Liquid mud plant:

GN solids control already made several complete LMP for our clients, like COSL(China Oilfield Services Limited) for both water based drilling fluids and oil based drilling fluids. That liquid mud plant including 17 sets of standard 40ft container mud tanks(450bbl each mud tank) with necessary mud agitators with JIE Brand gearbox, mud guns with 6.4Mpa high pressure, mud tank accessories and decanter centrifuge with feeding pumps. How to design a customized liquid mud plants?

Firstly we need to know the total volume of the LMP, so we can design the mud tank size and we can know the layout of each mud tank, how much bbl each mud tank, and how to fix them in the liquid mud plant.

Secondly we need to know what equipments will be used in LMP, including the mud recycling system, barite recovery centrifuge, high speed decanter centrifuge, pumps, pipelines, mixers, etc.

The mud recycling system including shale shaker, desander, desilter cone, decanter centrifuge, mud tanks, mud agitator, mud gun, mixing hopper, shear pump or mixing pump, etc.

GN mud mixing system is composed of a mud mixing tank, mud hopper and mixing pump and pipelines, valves, stairs, handrails , mud agitator, mud gun, sometimes in the liquid mud plant we put the decanter centrifuge on top of the mixing tank.

The mud mixing unit is also called jet mud mixer, it can be installed on the mud tank for convenient move, also it can be located on the ground and connect with the mixing tank by pipe, so that it can enlarge the storage capacity of the mud tank. You can also put the mud hopper on top of the mud tank or on the skid of the mud tank, the former way can get the best performance, but difficult to add chemical material, you have to lift the material through the stair. The later way is easy to add material, but the mixing effect is not so good as the former one.

Mud tank is the necessary components in a complete mud system, there are shale shaker, desander, desilter, centrifugal pumps, mud agitator, mud gun on the mud system tank. The main components for the tank including hammer unions, butterfly valve, gate valve, flexible connection hose, clean gate, pipelines, lights, electric control system, hand rails, walkway, stairs, man hole and solids control equipments. Above are the main mud system tank components, sometimes there are some other components, like mud hopper, mixing pump, sun-proof cover, mud gas separator, vacuum degasser.

Weighting materials are a high-specific gravity and finely divided solid material used to increase the density of a drilling fluid.  How to add weighting materials to the drilling fluids?

In most oil & gas drilling solids control system, there are weighting tank, which has a mud hopper and mixing pump, the operator add the additives from the top of the venturi hopper, the mixing pump transferred the drilling fluids through the cross under the hopper, under the working of pressure, the power material are added to the drilling fluids. It will be mixed by mud agitator installed on the tank. Sometimes shear pump will be used instead of centrifugal pump.

Centrifugal pump is a rotodynamic pump that uses a rotating impeller to increase the pressure and flow rate of a fluid. Centrifugal pumps are the most common type of pump used to move liquids through a piping system.

It is widely used in oilfield drilling mud system, as trip pump, measurement pump, charging pump, mixing pump, feeding pump. It can be used together with mixing hopper as a mixing unit, with trip tank as a trip pump/measurement pump, with mud pump as charging pump for mud pump, or as a transfer pump. It is ideal choice for drilling fluids transfer.
