Submersible
slurry pump
can be used in different applications for oil & gas drilling
solids control system and mud recycling system. The applications are as below:

(1)   
Feeding pump for shale shaker in the mud recycling
system for HDD, water well drilling, CBM.

(2)   
Feeding pump for decanter centrifuge when there is
no enough place for the horizontal screw pump for different industries, oil
drilling , dewatering unit, drilling waste management system.

(3)   
Mixing pump with mixing hopper, because the
submersible slurry pump is vertical installed, which can save the place and
remain the storage capacity, but pls notice the lift and working pressure to
match the venturi hopper.

(4)   
Feeding pump for complete
desander/ desilter unit/ mud cleaning system from the mud pit, remember to
choose the correct model with proper lift, because the flow rate and lift will
loss during the transferring in the long distance. The normal submersible
length is 1.5m, and max 1.8m. If the mud pit or mud tank is very high, and you
need longer submersible length, we will suggest to use hose/pipe for the extra
length, or use the Submerged pump fully under the liquid level.

If there
are small rocks and high solids content in the mud, the submersible slurry pump
is pretty suitable because the impeller is with special wearable hard surface .Centrifugal
pump, screw pump can not be used in such applications, hose pump is another
option for such projects.

Compared
with the horizontal installed pumps, like centrifugal pump, shear pump, screw
pump, the vertical submersible slurry pump required small space and keep the
storage capacity and free of maintenance and reliable performance. There is no
bearing and gland seal between impeller and pump body, so the slurry pump is
maintance-free and high temperature resistance.

GN solids control specialized
at customized TBM slurry separation plant with polymer mixing and dosing unit
as a complete system, the polymer mixing unit is applied for polymer flocculant
mixing and feeding to the dewatering centrifuge to get the water as clean as
possible, to separate more fine solids under 5 microns.

TBM
is the short name for Tunneling Boring Machine, Tunnels of less than a metre or
so in diameter are typically done using trenchless construction methods or
horizontal directional drilling rather than TBMs.

We
ever designed a containerized dewatering unit for Tunneling project with the
same application, the main purpose is to get clean water, and dry solids for
disposal. The polymer mixing unit can be installed inside the container
together with GN big bowl decanter centrifuge, by this way, it is convenient
for movement, also it can be located on the skid without standard shipping
container for cooling and easy maintenance, also the cost is much cheaper. We
can make it customized to meet the client’s requirement.

There
are 3 parts in the TBM slurry separation plant: Solids removal unit, polymer
mixing and dosing unit, dewatering unit with dewatering centrifuge. We provide
various options for solids removal unit/ mud cleaning unit, depends on your
required electricity power consumption and budget, we can provide 2-phase
cleaning compact design( double deck shale shaker + desander cone or double
deck shaker + desilter cone) or 3-phase cleaning premium mud cleaning system,
with shale shaker, mud cleaner( shaker, desander cone, desilter cone 3 in 1).

Our
dewatering unit can be applied for both powder polymer and solution polymer,
with pre-humidifyng
system for the powder and dosing system.

We can make the dewatering centrifuge on the

Screw
conveyor
is widely used for oil & gas drilling zero discharge drilling
waste management system, the purpose is to collect and move semi-solids
materials, so you can save a lot of labors and more efficient to deal with the
drilling cuttings which should be cleaned and handling before discharge.

Installation
of screw conveyor in the drilling waste management system:

Normally
it is installed horizontally and at a slight incline which is supported by a
customized steel frame according to the distance to the vertical cuttings
dryer, but the angle is normally less than 45 degree. Too incline angle will
influence the moving efficiency of the screw conveyor.

Structure

It
consists of a trough or tube containing either a spiral blade coiled around a
shaft, driven at one end and held at the other, or a “shaftless
spiral”, driven at one end and free at the other. Variable frequency
electric motor can be used to provide a variable speed, which is for the
different drilling cuttings conditions and required moving rate.

The
solids discharge end could be customized design according to the rigsite’s
layout, side discharge or bottom discharge.

standard screw conveyor

There
is hopper opening screw conveyor which is usually used to collect the cuttings
from the shale shaker, desander, desilter, decanter centrifuge. And others are
closed cover screw conveyor, and outside the U-type trough, you can choose with
the frame support or without.

We have screw diameter of 12inch, 14inch,
16inch, 18 inch for option, and the screw conveyor length is divided to
different sections, each section is connected by the bearings, each section is
standard 12ft, you can choose 2 section( 24ft), 3 sections (36ft) or 4
sections(48ft).

Auger
is developed as a traditional drill cuttings transferring method, more and more
people choose cuttings pump or vacuum unit to replace it.

Drilling
mud serve as lubricant that keep the drilling bit operate smooth.  The consequence of drill bit overworked by
temperature heading up will lead to hard work of engine and transmission that
lead to breakdown and halt the whole operation.
It is a very costly operation halt that leads cost of extra ten thousand
of dollars and more. Plus, the drilling fluid is also a very costly lubricant
and to keep the drilling cost under control, solids control machinery is need
for filter the debris that contain in the drilling mud for many times of cycle
of use the drilling mud.  The five
machinery that will completely perform filter the solids from the drilling mud
are shale shaker, vacuum degasser, desander, desilter and
decanter centrifuge.

Shale
shaker

The
drilling mud feed enter the feeding box of shale
shaker
.  The mud
contains various size of the solids return to the ground surface and shale
shaker is filtering the biggest solid by use high G force of shaking.  The box of shale shaker contain panels of
mesh screen that is different number of mesh depend on solids contents analyze
by drilling mud engineer

Vacuum
degasser

. The muds
that return to ground surface not only contain solids but also gas from the
earth core.  This gas that change density
of drilling mud leads result change the viscosity of drilling mud. Vacuum degasser
removes the gas in the drilling mud to keep the mud in balance and continue the
future solids filter process.

Desander

The drilling fluids now that
contain medium size solids enter the liquid feeding pump and enter the
desander
, which contain large hydrocyclone(s).  The solids diameter above 40-60um will be
filtered and bottom of desander is pair with shale shaker contain finer mesh
compare with first shale shaker to complete the filtering.  T

Desilter

This machinery’s function of
work is just as same like desander in last step before. It contains multiple
smaller hydrocyclones that can remove solids that measure diameter above
15-40um.  It is also pair with shale
shaker like desander and complete this step of filtering.

Decanter Centrifuge

The drilling fluid feed through
centrifugal pump that feed into decanter centrifuge that rotate in High
speed of G force
.  The rotating
bowl will separate solids from the mud and exit in one for solids and other one
is for filtered mud.  The drilling mud
now will feed back to the rig for next cycle of usage.

Drilling waste are consist of drilling cuttings, waste water produced by drilling and oil storage, oily sludge, tank bottom waste, etc. GN vertical G dryer system can be used for all these types of drilling waste with our customized design. We have standard equipments just put them in different layout and use different speed( G force) to get the required result.
Firstly GN vertical cuttings dryer system will separate the oil based drilling cuttings from the materials collected from the rig site both in onshore and offshore, and get the waste water with oil, the oil content remained in the cuttings after treated by GNCD930D-VFD is around 5%, you need to transfer the cuttings to thermal unit to reduce oil content in the cuttings then disposal, otherwise you need drilling waste injection process. For the waste water with oil, a 3-phase decanter centrifuge can help to separate the oil from the waste water, and oil recovery can be re-used for the drilling fluids and save a lot of drilling cost, the waste water can be flocculation and feeding to the water treatment system.Such drilling waste water treatment process can apply both vertical cuttings dryer and decanter centrifuge or both of them, it depends on your budget of the projecct. But you should pay more attention to the solids particle size, it is very fine clay and silt solids, the vertical G dryer can not be applied, the decanter centrifuge is suitable for such situation.
